NRA Women on Target®
A Women on Target® instructional shooting clinic is typically a half‑ or full‑day program, with most structured courses lasting about 4 hours in total
If you’re interested in learning firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship in a supportive, woman-friendly environment, Women On Target® is the perfect place to start. These instructional clinics are available only to women, to provide a safe and friendly venue to learn these critical skills.
Whether you’re picking up a gun for the very first time or just brushing the dust off your skills, you’ll immediately feel at ease in the half- or full-day clinics. No experience or equipment is necessary to participate in Women On Target…so let’s get started!
Classroom time: Introduction to firearm safety, parts, operation, ammunition, and shooting fundamentals.
Range time: Live fire training, safe handling, and a nationally standardized shooting qualification.
Materials & equipment: The program provides firearms if you don’t have one, plus NRA‑certified instruction and safety gear

Experienced Instructors. Real-World Training.
Not all firearm training is the same. Smith Creek focuses on building responsible handgun owners through disciplined safety practices, clear legal instruction, and coached hands-on experience.
Our instructors understand that real training means more than meeting a requirement. We emphasize safe habits, sound judgment, and practical skills so students leave with the knowledge and confidence needed to responsibly own and operate a handgun.
